Changing Devices

When you create a new job, Antha OS will choose a compatible device for you. However, sometimes you may want to manually change the device being used. Depending on which tool in the Antha environment you're using, there are three different ways to do this.

Changing Devices in the Protocol Cards

Changing devices in the Protocol Cards is as easy as using the cards themselves. To change devices in the card view, simply select "job config" underneath the gear icon.

When this icon is clicked, the "Device Select Comp" panel will slide into view and you will be able to select from your previously connected devices.

Click on the "Pick Devices" text to see all of your devices and select the one you wish by checking the checkbox next to its name. The devices are separated by type, so if you don't see the one you're looking for, it may be listed under a different header. Because Antha supports the use of multiple devices in a workflow, you must also deselect any devices which you do not want to use in your workflow.

Changing Devices in the Dashboard

If you are already in the dashboard and wish to change the device you're using, selecting a new device is fast and simple.

In the dashboard, click the blue "CHANGE" button in the "Used Devices" card in the lower right hand part of the dashboard.

Note: You can only change the device during simulation mode. Once you have scheduled the job, you cannot change the device.

An overlay will appear with all of your devices grouped by device type. Locate the type of device you would like to change to, and then select your device from within that list. Because Antha supports the use of multiple devices in a workflow, you must also deselect any devices which you do not want to use in your workflow. Once you are happy with your new selection, press the "SELECT" button. This step could take a few moments as the system re-simulates the workflow, especially if your workflow is complex.
